Carrera por la vida Xabia enviará un mensaje de esperanza y apoyo a todos aquellos que están luchando contra el cáncer, a las familias de los pacientes, a todos los que hayan perdido algún ser querido, a los doctores, los científicos y a los cuidadores – es decir a cualquiera que se vea involucrado en lo relacionado con el cáncer.

Carrera por la Vida Xabia will send a message of hope and support to all those battling against cancer, the families of patients, people who have lost loved ones, doctors, nurses, scientists and carers – in fact anyone who is dealing with cancer.

Carrera por la Vida Xabia ~ Race for Life Javea
Es el momento perfecto para reflexionar sobre las actividades del año pasado y también de darles las gracias por todo el apoyo recibido.
El día dedicado a la ‘Concienciación del Cáncer Infantil’ fue un éxito enorme gracias al gran entusiasmo y apoyo recibido de todos los estudiantes y personal de las academias de baile además de todos los miembros del Grup de Danses Portitxol y sus cabezudos. En principio, este evento era meramente una campaña de concienciación, pero se recaudaron 1.772€, este dinero se entregó a partes iguales a AECC Infantil y ASPANION, dos asociaciones muy merecedoras, dedicadas al cáncer infantil.
La competición de dibujo que coincidió con este evento fue una estupenda manera para tener más es cuenta este triste aspecto de nuestros días, especialmente entre los más jóvenes. Queremos dar las gracias a los profesores de los colegios que participaron con sus alumnos.
Y como tercera parte realizamos la subasta de una camiseta oficial del Manchester United (FC) firmada por Javier Hernández. Subasta que se llevó a cabo en directo por la Radio gracias Bay Radio, este acto recaudó otros 1.000€ para las asociaciones ya mencionadas.
La sexta edición de la ‘Carrera por la Vida Xàbia’ tuvo lugar en Septiembre y aunque tuvimos menos participantes que otros años, pasamos un día divertido. Salió el sol y todos los participantes terminaron el circuito de 5km sin problemas. El dinero recaudado se repartió entre AECC, ASPANION, EOS y MABS, recibiendo cada uno la cantidad de 1.050€
Queremos agradecer a todos los que nos hayan apoyado durante el 2.011. No solo lo agradecemos nosotros, los de ‘Carrera por la vida Xàbia’ sino que también lo hacen las 4 asociaciones beneficiadas.

Time to reflect on the past year and to thank you all for your support.
The Children’s Cancer Awareness day held in February was a great success mainly due to the enthusiasm and support of the students and staff of the local children’s dance and drama groups, as well as the members of the Portixol Dancers. Although this was primarily an awareness campaign 1,772 euros was raised which was shared between ASPANION and AECC Infantil, two very worthwhile charities who support children with cancer.
The children’s art competition held at the same time helped to raise awareness of cancer, particularly amongst the younger generation, and we would like to thank the teachers of the local schools who encouraged their students to take part.
Following on from this an official Manchester United T shirt was presented to the charity and with the help of Bay Radio an online auction raised a further 1,000 euros for the two children’s charities.
Javea’s 6th annual Race for Life took place in September and although the number of entries was down on previous years a good day was had by all. The sun shone and the runners and walkers completed the 5km route with ease! The money raised from this event has been shared between AECC, ASPANION, EOS and MABs with each organisation receiving a donation of 1.050 euros.
Thanks to everyone who has given their support this year. It is much appreciated not only by us but also by the four charities who have been beneficiaries this year.

The Javea event will be a fun 5km walk, starting and finishing at the Carnaval bar (Arenal beach). What could be a better way to spend your Sunday morning! Getting a bit of exercise, having fun and supporting local charities - all at the same time.
